Every year the Pantone Fashion Color Report from the Pantone Color Institute sets the new colors for the year. This year the colors are jewel tones with a nod to earthiness. In 2017, Pantone’s main color of the year is Greenery.
Alive and brilliant, this color is described by Pantone as “trans-seasonal.” Greenery and the new colors that surround it pair easily with neutrals and metallic colors. These new colors also look great with Pantone’s Color of the year for 2016, Rose Quartz. The new colors for 2017 mimic the color of gemstones such as emeralds, sapphires and rubies. It is easy to stay on trend this year with your jewelry. Here are some of out favorite suggestions.
Emeralds & Diamonds
Emeralds give off a cool, clean vitality that is perfect for the start of the New Year. This combination is especially attractive in earrings and bracelets. Add in a compliment of diamonds to create a look that is magical!
Blue Tanzanite for 2017
Blue Tanzanite is a perfect complement to the new colors for 2017. Alive and vibrant, Tanzanite radiates energy, especially when worn in earrings. Deep blue Tanzanite is very close to Lapis Blue 19-4045, one of Pantone’s colors for 2017.
Pink and Red Sapphires: A Great Alternative to Rubies
Deep red rubies will look amazing with the new colors of 2017. Unfortunately, quality rubies of any size are extremely rare. Red and pink sapphires are a good alternative at a more affordable price. Red is the complimentary color to green so this combination always looks great. A red or pink sapphire pendant is the perfect compliment to a vibrant green dress in 2017. Add in a beautiful pair of earrings to create a polished outfit.
Mix and match colored stones in order to create fun combinations that are constantly changing. We love the look of stacked colors for spring. Color Stacking is fantastic in both rings and bracelets.
